My internet window popped up and the headline on my MSN homepage, which wrote "The truth about trans fats" caught my eye.I clicked on the button and read on the article. It was quite interesting though.Practically, trans fat can actually lead to heart disease. They're usually created when vegetable oil is hydroge-nated—altered with hydrogen—to make it solid at room temperature (think oil versus margarine). That solidity helps make potato chips crunchy and piecrusts tender. It also makes food more shelf stable, which means if a food is boxed or wrapped and sold in a grocery store, there's a good chance trans fats are lurking inside. It is also shocking to for me to find out that trans fat accounts for as many as 50,000 deaths a year.It was like,err...so scary. The five worst trans-fatty food are
stick margarine, potato chips, breakfast food, baked food and restaurant and grocery store prepared foods. So,beware what you eat, friends.
